Upgrades can be unlocked by performing stunts. Most of the powers from the first game like the grenades, shock wave, and rockets remain, but they took away the shield power, which was sometimes pretty useful. Due to having electric powers, Cole cannot drive vehicles, use guns, or even swim, the latter which can kill him.
